Reflecting upon my job offer this week, there is no mistaking how God opens doors for His will to be done. I had no intention of even applying for Tulsa schools, until 2 days before the job fair.
Open door #1: A connection came out of nowhere through a friend of mine whose aunt works at a school in Tulsa. Her aunt was in the same program I was (ExCEL) and student-taught at the same school I am.
Open door #2: The cooperating teacher of my friend's aunt approached me about an opening in the Tulsa school, as well as my friend. 2 separate instances that people approached me about a 3rd grade position (what I wanted) in a good school.
Open door #3: The principal at the specific school that I want to be at was present at the job fair and interviewing people that afternoon. When I approached her at the job fair, she immediately recognized my name and said that my friend's aunt had already recommended me for the job.
Open door #4: She hired me on the spot for Tulsa Public Schools (I won't know until May exactly which school I will be placed at) but she is going to try and get me hired at her school.
Open door #5: My living situation is basically being taken care of next year due to certain circumstances. Therefore, though the drive to the school is further than I'd like, money that I would be spending on housing can be used toward gas money.
I've been praying so hard for direction and guidance from God to show me where He wants me to be next year. While this position is in no way what I had in mind, it's hard to ignore when God opens doors like these. I will continue to pray for guidance and I hope that I am able to be hired at this specific school. I feel like, more than I have ever have, that I have trusted God with my plans and have really been able to SEE and FEEL him guiding me in His direction. I just keep wondering how He is going to use me at my school next year... what child needs me as a teacher in their life?

Let our anthem grow loud
Oh, for a thousand tongues to sing
My great Redeemer's praise,
The glories of my God and King,
The triumphs of His grace!
My gracious Master and my God,
Assist me to proclaim,
To spread through all the earth abroad
The honors of Thy name.
So come on and sing out
Let our anthem grow loud
There is one great love--Jesus
There are so few words that never grow old--Jesus, Jesus, Jesus
My great Redeemer's praise,
The glories of my God and King,
The triumphs of His grace!
My gracious Master and my God,
Assist me to proclaim,
To spread through all the earth abroad
The honors of Thy name.
So come on and sing out
Let our anthem grow loud
There is one great love--Jesus
There are so few words that never grow old--Jesus, Jesus, Jesus
My attempt to show you just how great He is.
Over the last few months, I've really been challenged. And stretched. And amazed. And through it all, I've really, really grown. I've discovered what faith really is. It's not knowing for sure what's at the end of the road, or even what comes next, but trusting that He will take care of it. He will let me know what to do when the time comes. I know that when I trust Him, I will be headed in the right direction.
